Cement grout mix suspensions are identified with water cement ratio (W/C). For rockmass grouting, thin suspensions (W/C > 5) is preferred by some with the assumption that thinner suspensions can easily penetrate finer openings.

However, thin mixes are generally unstable, which may lead to bleeding and thus resulting in lower penetration and strength.
